Environmental Learning Institute Field-based natural and bio-cultural science and environmental research and education. The Environmental Learning Institute works for conservation, preservation and restoration of endangered ecosystems of global significance. We are an adapting and evolving collective of individuals, communities and institutions participating in scholarly community-based environmental research, education and projects. These programs and projects are in the disciplines and field of studies: Biodiversity & Conservation Education; Natural History; Biocultural History; Conservation Biology; Protected Area Strategies; Field Geology; Field Biology; Earth System Sciences; Environmental Science, Ethics and Public Policy; Sustainable Development Studies and Science Education. Our programs, projects and courses employ an action-research model working with communities on locally identified projects serving the public good. Environmental Learning Institute is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. |
